Scientific Name: Peperomia Scandens

Other  Names: Acrocarpidium Scandens/False Philodendron/Hanging Peperomia

Family: Piperaceae

Genus: Peperoma

Native: Tropical and sub-tropical South America and Africa

A vining, epiphytic plant, this is one of the most popular Peperomias to grow because of its hardiness. A sturdy trailer with glossy lime green, heart-shaped leaves, it acquires an elegant form with growth as its stems arch outward and upward most gracefully. As with other Peperomias, this species too has thick, stout stems and fleshy leaves. Container-friendly, particularly beautiful in a hanging  container, and ideal for small indoors spaces and tabletops, this will grow to a creditable height of 36 inches, extremely big for most Peperomias.

*Highly rated as an airpurifier when placed indoors.

**Sold in a 4" small standing and a 6.9" medium hanging container

***All our plants are organically grown without the use of any chemical fertilizers, fungicides or pesticides.

Piper Peperomia Green

  • GROWING: Re-pot in a larger container to increase root and foliage growth.

LIGHT: Grow indoors in a bright spot with exposure to indirect sunlight/ambient light for at least six hours daily.

WATERING: Alternate days in summer and twice a week rest of the year. Allow soil to dry out completely between watering events. Never let its roots sit in stagnant water.

FERTILIZING: Our plants are sold in organically enriched, NPK+MagSulf strong, potting mixes that would need no additional soil amendments for at least one year. If re-potting/migrating to a larger container, we recommend the use of Mandy's Farm Cactus Potting Mix or one similar to it.
