In 2005 experimental kitchen gardening began in the US North East with a quarter acre plot and 30 types of vegetables! Learning in a temperate climatic zone, Mandy then relocated to tropical Mumbai in 2011 and started an urban farm on a 2000 sq. foot city terrace. As it grew through the seasons and years, mumbaifarmer.com was created to document learnings, and an eponymous facebook group founded to encourage other urban farmers in Mumbai. The lack of organic options in the market spurred the sourcing and developing of India's first complete range of natural earth products - soil amendments and potting mixes that were lab-tested, pH regulated and field-researched.

It's been a story of solid, organic growth, and here's what has made us most proud:

• 2015 - Pioneering the sale of Cow Manure, Epsom Salts, Wood-Ash, Goat Manure, Rock Phosphate and Bio-Char & being the first to offer organic Ready-to-Use Potting Mixes and Terrarium Kits

• 2018 - Offering consultancy services and visiting sites across the country with varied soil profiles, climatic conditions and site challenges to help clients set up sustainable Permaculture farms

• 2020 - Starting our plant nursery with edibles, herbs, spice, medicinal and ornamental plants, all organically grown
